I’ve never been one for romance, of any kind. I’m truly the least romantic person I know, especially when it comes to Valentine’s Day. I can’t remember the last¬†Valentine’s Day I celebrated. There is nothing about flowers, candy or those cute stuffed bears with tiny heart balloon that move me.

When I see my friends romantic Facebook photos I’m happy for them, for their love. Yet, I ¬†remain unmoved. My level of emptiness sometimes disturbs me.

Today is my birthday and it never fails that every time it rolls around there’s always a snow storm. And by snow storm, I don’t mean a little duster. I mean SNOW. Feets and feets of snow.

I’m serious, this is like the 5th year or more in a row. It’s to the point where I stopped planning shit cause I refuse to put money down and then I have to reschedule. It’s a complete and utter downer for me.

When you’re a mom (or dad) who works from home it can be a difficult task to keep your area neat, clean and tranquil. My desk on a good day can be covered with work, research and other random things, on top of toys, drawings, sippy cups and crumbs…lots of crumbs.
