Sisterhued is a digital collective comprised of myself, Shaniqua Garvin of Brown Media Mama, Danielle Wilson of Dellah’s Jubilation and Tiffani Greenaway of My MommyVents. The purpose of the this collective is to bring together brands and bloggers of color, as well as showcase women of color in a positive and uplifting light.

We recently held our launch event at the Lecture Loft in New York City to introduce Sisterhued, its founders, mission and our goals for the future.

At our sold out event I spoke about why Sisterhued is dedicated to negating the negative images and stereotypes that surround of women of color by showcasing sisterhood within our community, and reinforcing that women from the lightest to the darkest hue are beautiful, smart and important.

Thank you so much to everyone who came out from far and wide to show their support. Stay turned to more Sisterhued events slated for 2016.

Thank you to our sponsors Dove, Boiron, Nubain Heritage, Dickinson’s and Newport Skinny Tea for providing all of our gift bag items.  I’d also to thank Essence magazine for contributing magazines that were also included in the event gift bags.
