How many children do you have? 4 girls, a full house of little ladies (pray for me)
What are your favorite hobbies? Reading, writing, eating (yes I’m serious) lol eating with friends, teaching people how to control their money, hosting events!
When was the last time you had mommy me time and/or couple time and how did you spend it? Because I’m building a business me time is limited right now and I often spend the me time I do get on my business (or cleaning my house) but my husband and I try to go on a date at least once a month. Me time at home is next to impossible. I typically have to spend my me time out of the house or I will end up with multiple children in my lap, but I do get out with friends pretty often 1-2 times a month at least.
How do you balance everything in your life so that you can have a little alone time? “Balance” in the way people describe technically doesn’t exist. When you have children your life changes permanently, especially when you add more than one child to your life. There are some who try to hold on to their pre-mommy identity but its impossible to maintain realistically, you are a totally different person after you become a mom. Trust me. Move on and embrace your new self. I take things as they come, plan as much as I know, and don’t stress what doesn’t get done.
If you could spend 24 hours alone how would you spend it? 24 hours. Wow, that’s a luxury.. I’d check into a luxury hotel and sleep.. then when I get up I’d spend the entire day doing what I love with no interruptions, (holy moly I’d be so productive!!) I’d order all 3 of my meals plus snack and have someone wait on me hand and foot for a change 😉
What is your family’s favorite fun time activity? We have a lot of things we like to do together, going to the park together probably tops the list, playing cards, listening to music and dancing around the living room lol.
What advice would you give a mom who is struggling to find that slice of mommy me time? SCHEDULE IT! If you are finding it next to impossible, schedule it and commit to keeping the appointment with yourself, because you matter and if you burn out who’s going to take care of everyone else like you do!!!!
Thank you Carrie for sharing your interests with us! I too am a fan of eating, especially with friends. There’s nothing better than meeting with friends over good food, great wine and lots of laughter. It’s the most therapeutic thing one can do when everyone’s schedule is open at the same time for a couple of hours. And hosting events, well, you already know.
If you would like to be featured in this fun series, which is open to all moms regardless of your region, please feel free to contact me. Join us in two weeks for our next ‘Mommy Me Time’ feature.
