How many children do you have? 4 children. Ages 8, 12, 19, 25

When was the last time you had mommy me time? How did you spend it? Thanks to my mother I have mommy me time quite a bit. My two oldest kids work so that leaves the younger ones who are now back in school so Mon- Fri is my time. I love spending time with them as much as I can especially in the summer so it’s cool if their around. I just had mommy me time the first day of school getting pampered. Hair salon and eyebrows threaded.

When was the last time your spent time with your partner or girlfriends? How did you spend the time? Every event I go to I spend with my girlfriends so that’s at least two to three times a week. I have no partner. Single!!!

Do you have a favorite place to go that gives you a little solitude? I love going to this cute restaurant/cafe/lounge with free wifi by my house. I can blog there and have my coffee that I buy across the street before I go inside. Lol. Less expensive.

mommy me timeIf you could spend 24 hours alone how would you spend it? I would go shopping / pig out in a restaurant and spend the night in a hotel ordering room service, movies and jumping on the bed.

What are your favorite hobbies? Love cooking even though it’s more like mandatory. I thought I ate a lot. Love taking pictures and home decorating.

What song or type of music do you blast when the kids aren’t around? Hip hop, pop, house, old school.

What is your family’s favorite fun time activity? We love board games and amusement parks if that’s an activity.

How do you balance everything in your life so that you can have a little alone time? I get up at 4am every morning so I can have at least two hours doing what needs to be done before they wake up. Also write in my calendar on my phone to prepare for what’s ahead. Love being organized.

Do you have a special morning routine that gets you geared up for the day and/or night time wind down routine that helps get you relaxed after long day? That 4am wake up. Cook dinner early. Food digested and kids go to bed early.

What advice would you give a mom who is struggling to find that slice of mommy me time? Have a backup babysitter. If one isn’t available have a backup for the backup. If my mom isn’t available which is rare I have my sister or cousin. Always don’t be afraid to ask for help.

Thank you Nichol for sharing your interests with us! I totally understand what you mean about getting up earlier. I may not like it but it is true you can absolutely get so much more done. Another blogger was telling me about the free wifi locations. I need to find one near my house and make use of it, cause you are so right. I could get so much done there. And for the record amusement parks are absolutely an activity. I enjoy them myself but you will not see me on any roller coasters, I’ll be in the kiddie section squeezing into a seat.

The Mommy Me Time interviews will run every other week starting Oct 7 and will run through the end of the year. If you would like to be featured please feel free to email me at Valerie@MommyRandR.com.
