    Keeping up with how well you’re taking care of yourself, needs to be tracked and monitored. To understand the effectiveness of your mental and physical health, you need to measure the activity. Planners are the perfect way for doing that so that you can keep yourself both mentally and physically healthy.

    Wellness doesn’t remain the top priority when we get busy and feel like we’re fine without taking a time out. Using a planner reminds you of the reason why you started monitoring your health. Wellness planners allow you to track your rest habits, daily nutrition, and workouts as a way to maintain your health. In addition, it lets you focus on your goals so that you don’t float amid various objectives. The best part about using planners is that you can always go back and remind yourself of the essential goals and why you want to remain healthy.

You will be motivated when you reach these milestones, as it will be simple for you to track the critical changes that take place in your body.     One of the fundamental reasons why people keep a wellness planner or journal is to track their progress. When you record your mental and physical health, you know whether you’re progressing or not. Seeing how far you’ve come with how many times a week you meditated, ate well, and got a good night’s rest will keep you motivated, as they are signs of progress. It allows you to check if your current routine is having the desired effect or not. You’ll know if you need to switch up things and make a new routine.   • 2020 Wellness Calendar For Black Women {FREE Printable}

    What better way to start the new year than with a 12-month wellness calendar. My 2020 Wellness Calendar is a free printable download that is completely centered around Black women in the wellness space.

    Why a calendar centered around Black women?

    Well, if you didn’t notice I AM a Black woman and as a member of the planner community, I’m always on the lookout for planners and other accessories that reflect who I am. You see, I don’t just want to see myself represented with certain brand collaborations. I’m looking for planners and calendars that have been created specifically for me. And the sad thing is there isn’t much in this niche. So because I haven’t seen it, I created it. I know what I’ve been looking for and if I’ve been looking for it, I know others have been too and it’s long overdue that we get it.

    Why a wellness-themed calendar?

    As I have mentioned before there really is a lack of wellness-based calendars and planners on the market. I mean, sure you can take any ole calendar/planner and with enough tailoring make it suit your wellness needs but why should you. If we can get dozens of variations of teacher, faith, sport, and mommy planners (not that I have a problem with any of those), surely we can get a wellness planner. No, not a fitness planner. That’s totally different. I mean wellness. Yes, there can be a hint of fitness but instead of this planner telling you when it’s leg day a wellness planner will tell you it’s time to rest your legs. See the difference?  

    What does the 2020 Wellness Calendar feature?


    In addition to 12 images of Black women, (see images above) this 2020 calendar features wellness-related quotes from famous Black women. It also has a section to track your self-care and upcoming notes and reminders. It also prints to fit on standard letterhead making it perfect for your clipboard or to stick on your fridge.

    Now the self-care tracker is there for you to monitor how much self-care you’ve planned/taken for the week/month. It will help you keep tabs if you’re going too long without taking care of yourself. And before you ask, there is no such thing as too much self-care. You take it when you need it without the guilt of doing so. The blank notes and reminders space is there for you to jot down your next meditation session, motivational words of wisdom, or your upcoming doctor’s appointment. It’s completely up to you.

  • 52 Lists Planner Is Everything You Want in a Wellness Planner

    Moorea Seal is expanding her Lists series with the release of 52 Lists Planner. If you don’t know Moorea she’s the author of the wildly successful 52 Lists series and she’s also the owner a Seattle boutique that bears her name. I’ve been a fan of hers since the release of her first journal, The 52 Lists Project. It was the first creative journal I’ve ever purchased, and I haven’t looked back.

    So when I got an email asking if I would be interested in featuring her latest work on my lil ole site you know a bish was hyped. Cause as you know I’ve been talking a lot about undated wellness planners so the opportunity to review this one couldn’t have come at a better time. If you missed those posts I’m on the hunt for a planner that was created for the sole purpose of wellness and self-care. And I honestly think I might have found it.

    What I love about the 52 Lists Planner

    Real talk – 52 Lists Planner is about as close to perfection as you’re going to get in regards to a wellness planner. The red cover combined with the imagery makes it feel warm and inviting, and the gold elastic band is a perfect added touch. I also like that it’s hardcovered and compact enough to fit in a medium side bag or tote. Great for those who like to plan on the go.

    Then as soon as you open this planner *boom* – pockets! Two of them! Plenty of room to keep your lil notes and extras safe. As you turn the pages you’ll come to the welcome page where Moorea talks about the difference between goals, tasks, and intentions. She wants you to make a plan before you even put pen to paper. You’re also going to learn how to prioritize and how to get more done in smaller timeframes leaving more time to chill.

    But my favorite aspect of this planner is that it’s totally blank. Meaning, you can make this planner whatever you want it to be. You can use it for your appointments or for work or for wellness or all three. But seriously, you should really be using it to plan out time for YOU. That’s the whole point of a wellness planner.

    The monthly and weekly breakdown

    Moorea is all about her lists and you’ll find no shortage of them here. At the start of each month, you’re gonna jot down things that will get you one step closer to turning your dreams into reality. There is a monthly glance and a vertical weekly spread with gratitude prompts at the bottom. Each day asks you about your top priorities and boxes to check off what you’ve completed. There’s also a section for your tasks and intentions. When you reach the end of the week, you’ll have a chance to talk about your feelings.

    At the back of the planner, you’ll come to a section that asks you to reflect over the last year of your life. Talk about areas where you flourished and areas where you may need a little help. There’s also a brainstorming section. I love this part cause I’m always having ideas in my mind and like most people I write it on the back of junk mail and it ends up forgotten about. No more. Open your 52 Lists Planner and brainstorm your entire project one step at a time.

    What I think is missing from the 52 Lists Planner

    Unfortunately, yeah there are couple things about this planner that makes me a little sad. So the first thing I noticed was this planner didn’t have a lot of stickers. There’s only one-sheet of about 24 stickers that are pretty sizeable. That’s not a lot for this meaty ass planner. You’ll totally run out before the year is over. I think there should have been at least three full sheets of stickers that could have been a little smaller. As an alternative, if you’re a sticker lover – which I know you are, I know you have tons of unused sticker books that you can use or you can buy some wellness stickers.

    The other thing is this planner bound by a spiral binder. Which means when you’ve completed it you’ll have to buy a whole new one. I know there are plenty of other planners that are made like this but this planner cover is so nice I want refills so I can keep using it. And with a current price point of $15.52 on Amazon (original price $30), I say buy as many as you want and create your own annual planner series.

    Should you get the 52 Lists Planner?

    The long and the short answer is hells, yeah. And no, I’m not just saying that cause I got comped one. I assure you I would have purchased this planner regardless. Moorea’s list journals tap into the inspiring spaces of our mind that we sometimes forget, and this planner will help us plan and execute those ideas.

    Now that you’ve got your wellness planner it’s time to decorate it, and what better way to do that than with wellness stickers. I’m gonna be super honest with you I had a really hard time finding self-care/wellness stickers. Which I’m really surprised by because I would have thought with the number of self-care/wellness planners and journals there would have been a wider selection of stickers to match.
